Nursing associate is a new role being introduced into the health and care workforce in England from 2019.

Nursing associates are intended to bridge a gap between health and care assistants, and registered nurses - Nursing associates act in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing nursing care that is person-centred, safe and compassionate - Nursing associates play an active role as members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating and communicating effectively with nurses, a range of other health and care professionals and lay carers - Nursing associates contribute to the provision of care for people, including those with complex needs.

Carlton Coleby is an elderly care ward with 28 beds.

Carlton Coleby prides itself in taking a holistic approach to each individual patient and their care needs.

With having our Occupational and Physiotherapists on the ward means that we are able to work very closely with them to ensure that the patients are referred and assessed in a timely manner ensuring the patients stay in hospital is kept to a minimum.

You will be expected to assist in maintaining patient safety throughout their stay.

Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good'. Our rating for caring remained as 'Good'.


This is in recognition of the huge amount of work that our amazing staff have done to improve the quality of care for our patients in recent years.
