Description

We now have a vacancy for a Relief Driver / Porter to work full time at Salford Royal Hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic person to help support the Transport Service including monitoring daily schedules, the moving of equipment including samples, notes, stores, pharmacy and any other ad/hoc requests between hospital clinics and sites.

This could include transporting patients to home addresses, nursing homes etc.

The service runs schedules run will run Monday - Sunday and there is a need to know all schedules to cover if the need arises.

Applicants will need to be age 25 and over.

To provide a quality service to all patients, visitors and staff throughout the Trust, by carrying out a wide range of duties, including moving and handling, driving and security in a professional manner observing all health and safety and departmental codes of practice and procedures.

You will require previous driving experience and will have to drive a range of commercial fleet vehicles ranging from small ford connect vans, minibuses/ambulance and 3.5t tail lifts.

Previous driving experience

Good geographical knowledge

Manual handling is essential.

People skills

Required to handle heavy object and /or patients.

Basic IT skills

Understanding of the trust values

Required to undertake prolonged concentration.

From time be exposed to unpleasant working conditions or hazards.

Must be very flexible towards hours & duties within the Transport department.
