**Logistics Operative

  • Secure Contracts**

Full time, 40 hours, Mon-Fri

Permanent

£25,000 per annum, plus £1500 pro rata payment for security clearance allowance
We have a vacancy for a Logistics Operative to provide Logistics support to the Secure Logistics Contract.

The primary focus of the role is to deliver goods to locations throughout mainland UK and Northern Ireland, driving light commercial vehicles up to and including 7.5 tonne.

The post holder is required to deliver/collect a range of items desk side in buildings and must be able to manually handle furniture and archive crates (manual handling equipment is provided).


Serco adheres to the Domestic Driver Rules UK and as a result, the post holder will be required to undertake occasional overnight stops away from their base of operations.

The successful post holder must have a flexible approach to working as there may be a requirement to worker longer hours where overtime will be paid.

The post holder must be numerate and literate and able to accurately complete manifest and vehicle paperwork.

undertaking all aspects of warehousing including goods in/goods out, stock movement, stock control, quality assurance, asset management and database control.

Additionally, some tasks they will carry out will involve the limited use of IT systems and operation of a counterbalance fork lift truck (for which training will be provided).


It is a requirement of the role to adhere to the Domestic Driver (UK) and EU driving legislation as appropriate.

The post holder will also provide First line vehicle maintenance.


What you need to do the job:
It is essential the successful applicant holds a current UK driving licence. A counterbalance forklift truck licence would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.


The post holder will be required to undergo and attain enhanced SC security vetting, a process which is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders' act.

Working in this environment requires a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
