Compton Care provides free care and support for people living with incurable illnesses and their families.

We have supported families for 40 Years to navigate every aspect of life with an incurable condition, including:

the physical_** - helping patients deal with the physical changes brought about by their illness helping with symptom control and pain management.

_ the practical_ - supporting families to manage practical aspects including as finances, housing, legal matters and making future care plans.

_ the emotional & spiritual_ - providing a safe space for families to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions throughout the duration of a person's illness and after death.


It costs over £12 million every year to provide services free of charge to families across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire, and East Shropshire.


Compton receives approximately one third of this funding from the government with the rest sourced through various income generation activities including charity shops, fundraising events, a Compton lottery and various of other appeals and campaigns.


We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Shop Support team as a talented and experienced Stock Collector to support our retail stores and ecommerce operation. We have Stores across the West Midlands and with a flexible location for your base stores van location we support a healthy work life balance.


Working closely with the Stock Manager and reporting directly to the Stock Manager, the Stock Collector will have the autonomy to support the shops and warehouse runs daily.


What you'll need to be successful


You will be passionate about Driving and warehouse environment, have a pro-active 'can-do' attitude and comfortable to work alongside retail teams and volunteers to drive stock production.

We would like you to suggest new and/or better ways of working, we want you to make this role your own.

You'll be fluent in articulating these ideas in a positive and supportive way, achieving buy-in at all levels.


Your excellent communication and engagement skills will adapt your style to suit the audience in front of you for both internal and external stakeholders.

You will be committed to promoting a culture where your staff feel empowered and accountable for the service they provide, whilst ensuring team and individual objectives are met or exceeded.

A good sense of humour is always welcome along with the resilience to enable you to reach out to successfully to meet the objectives for your department, you will be supported by a compassionate people first team with a broad range of retail experience that will support you with your career development.
