Job Summary :
We are seeking a Sessional Cleaner to support in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. This role is to cover holidays and absences across our centres (Gilmerton, Liberton, Musselburgh) as and when required. The hours of work will be in the evening when the centre is closed.


Duties:


1 Service Delivery:

  • Carrying out specific cleaning tasks to the required standard and frequency as directed by the Line Manager. These will include dust removal, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning of sanitary ware.
  • Operation of mechanical cleaning equipment following training; cleaning of machinery after use.
  • Adhering to the safe use and storage of chemicals' using correct dilution rates for all chemicals so that wastage is avoided.
  • Collection and removal of refuse where required.
  • Carrying out emergency cleaning tasks as required by the line manager, or other authorised person, after risk assessments have been carried out to ensure it is safe to do so.
  • Taking part in 'in service' training as required. This will involve training in the use of machinery and chemicals to ensure that both are used safely.
  • Plan workload and prioritise allocated task to be done on a weekly and daily basis and for cover duties. Decide which rooms take priority for cleaning and when to refer issues to the line manager.
  • Where possible information regarding meetings and events will be notified to facilitate changes in times to ensure cleaning times can be amended.

2 Relationships with Stakeholders:

  • Foster and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.

3 Safety Procedures:

  • Being a keyholder and having responsibility for securing the building
  • Working with current safety guidelines
  • Ensure policy, procedure and systems are adhered to;
  • Notify management of any deficiencies in maintenance, damage or wear and tear that may affect the general health and safety of the building, equipment or staff.
