Quality & Compliance Administrator - 12 Months

Role Summary


We are seeking an effective graduate-level technical administrator, preferably with experience in the field of electronic components, who can coordinate and consolidate activities related to customer quality issues and customer compliance requests.


Reporting to the Head of Operations, the primary responsibility is to liaise with technical teams, both in the UK and in Hong Kong and China, fulfil customer quality and compliance requests and maintain up-to-date records of all activities.

Additional duties will include undertaking internal ISO 9001 audits and updating and improving ISO 9001 procedures, therefore experience (and preferably certification) as an ISO
9001 auditor is sought.

The role is initially for 12 months, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.

Scope of Role

  • The role is primarily desk based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
  • The role is initially for 12 months, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.
  • Role reports to Head of Operations, with liaison with Product Managers, Engineering
Manager, Regional Managers, and global sales personnel.

  • Required to develop a good working knowledge of technical products, technical and industry compliance standards.
  • Required to develop a good working knowledge of GCT's quality processes and systems in support of these processes.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as single first point of contact for all customer quality and compliance requests.
  • Administration and recordkeeping of all customer quality issues and customer compliance requests.
  • Maintenance of management reporting data on quality issues.
  • Liaison with all internal parties in the processing of quality and compliance requests.
  • Liaison with customers' quality representatives to seek required additional information for processing of quality and compliance requests.
  • Progresschasing quality and compliance requests with internal parties and customers.
  • Following GCT's procedures for customer requirements for quality issues (8D reports).
  • Undertaking internal audits as required under ISO 9001 standard.
  • Identifying weakness, errors, or omissions within existing GCT Quality Processes.
  • Updating GCT Quality Procedures to reflect issues identified during internal audits.
  • Undertaking other preparatory activities required ahead of ISO 9001 certification audits.
  • Stay abreast of industry compliance standard and update standardized responses.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of quality and compliance processes.
  • Other tasks as appropriate to support the Head of Operations, Product Managers and
Engineering Manager, and our worldwide sales team.


Requirements:


  • 2 years+ technical administration experience.
  • Experience of undertaking ISO 9001 internal audits and reviewing/updating ISO 9001 quality procedures is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electronics industry compliance standards is also highly desirable, such as RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65. However, full training will be provided on processing of compliance requests.
  • Proven selfstarter with experience of working independently, juggling and prioritizing workloads and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral), preferably with exposure to technical administration in previous roles, ideally in the field of electronics.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team spirited, but also be able to work on your own.
  • Ideally have an interest in electronics/technology projects.
