Company Accountant (Full Time or 4 days per week)

Chesterfield

£28,000 - £33,000

Standalone position reporting to the business owner. You'll be the primary finance contact for the business - a profitable and well-ran SME circa £3m turnover.

Your role is hands on management of all of the day to day financial reporting / month end activities.

You'll give the directors complete peace of mind by ensuring the accounting processes are robust, timely and well controlled.

It's a chance to work with plenty of autonomy and with a high degree of job security. You'll have the freedom to manage your own time and workload.

The role is either full time OR 4 days per week.

It's a well-established business with a strong track record within their specialism.

They are looking for someone meticulous, diligent and highly organized - ideally someone AAT qualified with previous experience within a smaller business.


You need to have the confidence and experience to manage all aspects of the day to day accounting activities - ledger duties, bank recs, balance sheet recs, production of management accounts, VAT return, cash management and forecasting, basic commentaryof actuals and variances etc.


It's a down to earth but professional SME where your input will be hugely valued and you'll be a vital member of the small team.

To start ASAP (latest Jan 2023).


You need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role for an agile SME.
  • AAT ideally.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
  • Good IT skills (previous use of Sage).
