Water Resources Administrative Assistant to join our team based

in Exeter. Joining us on a

full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of

£31,000 - £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.


About the role
***As our Water Resources Administrative Assistant you will assist in the financial delivery, reporting requirements and administration of the Water Resources environmental investment programmes (Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), Drought and resilience, public enquiry commitments), spanning across the full Pennon group including the Southwest, Isles of Scilly, Bournemouth, and Bristol.


The role requires close working with the programme manager and individual Project Managers to facilitate co-ordination and financial planning and reporting needed within each of these work streams to ensure their delivery to time, quality and budget parameters.

In addition, the role includes maintaining internal reporting including forecasting and engineering updates.


What you'll be doing:


  • Financial and administrative coordinating of projects within the water industry national environmental programme (WINEP) across Southwest water (Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly), Bristol water and Bournemouth water
  • Assisting the Water Resources Head of Strategic projects, Fisheries and Biodiversity manager, Bournemouth, and Bristol water's strategic environmental manager
  • Leading on financial coordination of each project, which will include Raising POs, requisitions and tracking of expenses to ensure efficient bookkeeping
  • Verify that incoming claims are accurate to pay SWW partners promptly
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of the WINEP AMP7 and AMP8 schemes for water resources including meeting setups and aiding in the tracking each multifaceted project's progress
  • Assisting in the planning of stakeholder events which will include both regulatory, riparian interest groups and charities
  • Coordination of partner and site visits, building relationships between SWW, Partners and Landowners

What we are looking for:


  • 5 GCSEs A* C or equivalent), including Science, Maths and English
  • IT qualifications or experience
  • Experience with handling budgets and/or procurement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • A real passion for the Environment
  • Understanding of online Project management and forecasting tools
