We are looking for Team Leaders who would like to join us in a fantastic opportunity to open a new children's home. ELIZABETH LINE SERVICES FROM SLOUGH

The role is based in slough Berkshire and provides great opportunities for easy travel into slough with the opening of the New Elizabeth line.

When the final timetable is in place in 2023, an Elizabeth line service every ten minutes at peak will serve slough station. Passengers will be able to travel eastbound direct through the new central London stations to Abbey Wood, or with a change through stations to Shenfield. Westbound services from this station run to Reading.

This full-time childcare worker role offers a favourable salary of £28,500 - £30,500.


The role requiresworking shifts including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-in duties and nights as children require support 365 days a year on a rota basis.


It is our aim to provide person-centred care for children with emotional behavioural difficulties and to meet the needs of each individual child with the intention that they may successfully move on into independence having felt safe and well cared for.

The opportunity is with a new provider with leading knowledge and extensive experience in the industry sector. The role allows the opportunity for the right person to work in a fun and exciting, caring environment.

You will get to work in a well-presented detached residential property. The home is intended to provide care and support for up to 4 children aged 11 to 17.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work alongside the manager to lead a team to create a homely environment that provides the best outcomes for young people
  • To create a safe environment in which the children and young people feel emotionally and physically secure within robust safeguarding practices
  • To ensure that the children and young people's
- needs are met to a high standard and children are supported to achieve excellent outcomes

  • To develop and facilitate keyworking for young people
  • Organise and plan shifts to support residential care workers to maintain high standards of care
  • Engage and liaise with multi agency professionals to develop a thriving service for young people
  • Motivate and provide structure and routine for young people to engage in activities, education and their overall care plan
  • Maintain record keeping including care plans and staff records
  • Complete regular supervision of staff
  • Role model and support the learning of colleagues
  • To be adaptable to challenging and changing situations and remain child focused
  • Engage the needs of all young people by being inclusive to all children and promoting their individual heritage and cultural needs

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or transferable professional qualification and willingness to complete the level 3 diploma
  • At least 1 years' experience working and supporting Young People with shift leading responsibility or transferable skills that demonstrate your ability to shift lead, supervise staff and manage challenging behaviour
  • Willingness to complete further formal and informal training such as safeguarding, first aid, and medication training

Skills and abilities:


  • Resilience, Compassion, along with demonstrated patience, and the ability to connect with young people
  • Ability to communicate and listen to children in adaptable ways
  • Ability to form positive relationships with young people, set boundaries and bring consistency to children's lives
  • Able to direct and lead shifts as a positive role model

Recruitment Process
