An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join the Elective Procedure Unit on Ward 202 at the Royal Derby Hospital.


You will act as the point of contact for patients and clinical staff, be responsible for booking in patients for a wide range of procedures and handle their discharge and follow up arrangements.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and exciting team, where you will have exposure to all divisions and specialities that come through EPU.


Responsibilities of this role cover a wide range of administration and clerical duties including clinic preparation, waiting list management, appointment scheduling, reception duties and answering telephone queries.

Therefore, a flexible approach to workload is required.

You must be a confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clinicians, clinical staff and patients. Essential qualities include strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Flexibility is essential as you will be required to work in different areas of the department in order to meet the service needs.


You will also need to be proficient in IT and an understanding of the Trust's clinical systems such as Lorenzo and Ormis would be desired.
