local authority in the

West London region, to recruit an experienced

Revenues & Benefits Officer. If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,


Contract: 3-6 months (Possible Extension)

Salary:
£17.50 p/h Umbrella (Negotiable)

Start Date:
May/June 2023

Shift Pattern: 36 hours / Full-time 09:00am - 17:00pm

DUTIES

  • To provide a comprehensive and indepth telephone service for council tax and housing benefit/council tax support enquiries.
  • To be able to clearly explain and process accounts at all stages of the council tax recovery process from reminder to committal stage.
  • Promote and support residents registering for the portal and to carry out the functions associated with the portal.
  • To accurately update/amend accounts/claims with regard to agreed procedures.
  • To raise inspection requests or refer cases to the valuation/database team in respect of any properties that may have a property exemption issue.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • At least 2 years previous experience within a Revenues/Benefits Prevention role or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of council tax and/or benefits laws and legislations.
  • Ability to maintain, update and interrogate computerised records, quickly and accurately.
  • Able to maintain composure and deliver a professional service when customers become difficult, abusive or distressed.
