  • The role of

Field Technologist is based at our modern, onshore Shetland Gas Plant (SGP) which currently supplies around 8% of the UK's TotalEnergies gas consumption.

  • This role is rotational (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off) and given its onshore nature you will have the chance to experience the stunning sights and recreational opportunities in Shetland when you are off shift.
  • This is a multifaceted and integrated role, which engages with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the business, this role involves:
  • Ensuring Safety and environmental factors are considered in all aspects of production activities.
  • Delivering efficient operations and optimization of subsea hydrocarbons production and transport by working closely with Aberdeen operations team (Well Performance, Smart Room and Subsea).
  • Monitoring facilities performance and identifying necessary interventions, providing reports and data analytics on performance indicators.
  • Ensuring any flowlines pigging operations are well prepared, and the progress of the operations are monitored, technical reports are issued detailing results and future improvements in line with our commitments to continuous improvement.
  • Planning and coordinating projects such as commissioning, startups and shutdowns.
  • Always ensuring compliance with Operations Integrity Assurance and Verification Scheme (OIAVS) requirements.
  • Maintaining and updating operational and procedural documents to always ensure relevancy and accuracy.

Context and environment

  • The Field Technologist is responsible for providing onsite (technical expert) support to SGP (Shetland Gas Plant) operations personnel to achieve optimal operational and safety performance of the wells, subsea facilities, production flowlines and SGP site.
  • What we would like from you:
  • You should be qualified to degree level and have 2 to 3 years post-graduate experience, ideally as a process/chemical engineer in the up-steam, down-stream, or other relevant process environment and a desire to progress.
  • Good communication and analytical skills are essential as well as the ability to work within a multidiscipline team.
  • This is a highly unique opportunity for a developing professional to gain experience in a variety of sitebased activities which will provide an exceptional foundation for future development.
  • Not many roles will allow you to gain frontfacing exposure in diverse operations, including functional safety, safety engineering, trouble shooting and process support.
