Description

The appointment of this full-time substantive NHS post is to develop and support acute spinal rehabilitation services at The Walton Centre and across the Cheshire and Merseyside region.

This post will provide the quality of care necessary for patients who are being managed outside of The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre (NWRSIC), inclusive of those awaiting transfer.

Additionally the successful applicant will provide acute rehabilitation oversight for major trauma patients admitted to the Major Trauma Centre Collaborative (MTCC).

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is an independent specialist neuroscience NHS Trust hospital providing a high quality, integrated and multidisciplinary neuroscience service to Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man.

The Walton Centre is adjacent to the Aintree University Hospital which is a busy District General Hospital Trust and the Major Trauma Centre for the region, located 6 miles from the centre of Liverpool.

The Walton Centre is also host to the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network that provides a hub and spoke model for patients requiring complex rehabilitation, regardless of diagnosis across the region.
