We are looking for an
IT Early Solutions Scientific Compute Lead who is collaborative, experienced and innovative to join us in our IT Early Solution Innovation and development team, based at our office in Slough, United Kingdom.


About the role


You will drive the evolution of our scientific compute environment and shape the technical platforms of the future for early drug discovery.


Who you'll work with

What you'll do

  • Work with different stakeholders (scientists, IT colleagues) to define, design and oversee the implementation of highperformance (cloud) compute solutions tailored to different challenges of insilico drug design
  • Build and own solutions that are maintainable, scalable, costefficient, and future proof as per latest industry standards
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues across the technical ecosystem (infrastructure, security, cloud)
  • Work in a transversal team and take part in leveraging existing compute platforms and extending them to become innovative digital solutions, enabling Early Research scientists and bioinformaticians to discover the nextgeneration disease treatment solutions by leveraging modern insilico techniques
  • Regularly assess the new technology trends

skills

  • You are an experienced and passionate IT engineer who gets energy from delivering performant solutions to complex problems together with a transversal team
  • You know everything the other IT engineers from the company know plus the things nobody heard of and enjoy working with people who also know things you never heard about
  • You are passionate about life sciences and wish to collaborate with scientists to contribute to the discovery of new targets that will improve patient's lives living with severe chronic disease
  • You have solid working knowledge and high curiosity to stay current and proactively explore the environment for emerging technologies and innovation trends around scientific compute
  • You are perseverant and can drive change
  • You can effectively prioritize and efficiently follow up on task execution
  • You learn from experience and put forward solutions to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past
  • You are a team player with effective communication skills.
  • As you are joining an international team (based in Belgium, United Kingdom, United States, and India), you have excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
  • Master's degree in information science, software engineering, computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience with delivering performant systems (HPC) that can handle large amounts of data (architecture, patterns, use cases and differences between CPU, GPU)
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud or similar cloud platform (e.g., AWS)
  • Experience with Linux
  • Knowledge of scrum methodology and experience with Agile principles and practices.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Azure AD or Azure B2C is a plus.
