    We have an exciting opportunity for an environmental expert to join our Christchurch based team, as an Environmental Advisor on a 12-month fixed term contract.

    Working alongside our existing team of advisors, this role is pivotal to educating and supporting our Canterbury operational and management teams to ensure they have the necessary tools to effectively deliver in the environmental space.

    In addition to the above you will:

    Utilise your knowledge of environmental management systems and processes to ensure compliance and consistency across Christchurch operations. This will include providing support to the West Coast branch. Provide environmental planning advice and on-site operational support, with a key focus on our quarries division. Assess site operations against environmental documentation for non-conformances and provide technical risk-based advice to remediate. Collaborate with operational teams to assess their environmental concerns and work with them to identify solutions. Complete comprehensive site audits and provide detailed reports to operational managers. Participate in, and lead Environmental investigations, ensuring learnings are identified and shared throughout the wider business. Support sustainability initiatives. Communicate good practice and lessons learned across the business. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant regulators.Good Work equals Good Benefits

    We're looking for someone with:


    Formal qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning or similar Minimum 2 years' experience in regulatory planning and compliance processes. Previous experience maintaining environmental management systems, ideally in a quarrying or civil contracting environment. Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and specifications. A personable approach to develop and maintain relationships at all levels. The ability to encourage a positive environmental culture, ensuring continuous improvement. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to undertake site audits and comprehensive environmental investigations.Creating, Connecting and caring for the community
