Description
We are looking for a Podiatrist to join a friendly multi-disciplinary team within our Primary Care Network in Ashford, Kent.
Job Description:
Assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb in people of all ages
Provide treatment for high-risk patient groups such as the elderly and those with increased risk of amputation
Give advice and make referrals to other healthcare and social services professionals as appropriate
Use therapeutic and surgical techniques to treat foot and lower leg issues (e.g. carrying out nail and soft tissue surgery using local anaesthetic)
Prescribe, produce and fit orthotics and other aids and appliances
Deliver foot health education
Understand the mechanics of the body in order to preserve, restore and develop movement
Work with people in sports to address sports-related injuries to legs and feet
Use a range of equipment including surgical instruments, dressings, treatment tables, orthotic (inner sole) materials,
Undertake a range of administrative tasks such as ensuring stock levels are maintained and securely stored, and that equipment is kept in good working order.
Ensure the services and support provided offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the PCN.
Takes responsibility for personal development and performance objectives
Demonstrate own professional practice, and meet the requirements of registration
Model the Podiatry role within and outside the team.
Understand the boundaries of own professional practice, when to seek support, and how to address own learning needs
Establish a network of internal and external colleagues with whom you can share expertise and seek advice
Contribute to the development of occupational therapy practice and the learning of others
Understand the organisational and political context in which you are working and how this impacts on practice

Qualifications:
Essential
Holds a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry and HCPC registration.
Salary based on experience.
Salary:
£37,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
