£28-40K depending on experience

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join GDS Technologies, a leading manufacturer of fixed gas detection equipment. This is a full-time, permanent role in our growing Purchasing Department supporting the Production Manager.

You will be responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective way whilst maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.

About the role:

Build & maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers
Stay up to date with GDS products and features
Understand the purchasing strategy of GDS Technologies
Source, select and approve new suppliers of materials, products and services that will enhance the performance of GDS Technologies
Ongoing review, evaluation, and monitoring of existing supplier performance in line with our ISO9001 certification
Generate and monitor the status of open purchase orders, proactively resolving any potential issues to ensure ontime material delivery
Promptly notify relevant stakeholders of any supply or pricing concerns
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
Resolve purchasingrelated issues

About you:

Essential qualifications and experience:

Prior experience of working in a Buyer position
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a pressurised environment
Ability to react fast to changing circumstances
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

Experience working in Procurement within an electronics/manufacturing environment
Recognised qualification in a related field such as Business, Procurement or Supply Operations
