Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in Blackburn who are looking to recruit an Intervention Specialist/Tutor to support students who struggle to learn within a large classroom environment.

The school caters for pupils aged who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and may display challenging behaviours.

Because of this, many students who attend this school have large barriers to learning and therefore, struggle toaccess education within the classroom environment.

Therefore, as an Intervention Specialist/ Tutor, your role will consist of helping children to learn outside of the classroom.


The role is to enable students who are underachieving to reach their target attainment levels by providing coaching and activities outside of the main activities of the wider student group.

The role of Intervention Tutor will include the following duties:

  • Planning and preparing intervention sessions
  • Marking and assessing work
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of student
  • Attending departmental meetings
  • Supporting revision sessions
This would be the perfect role for a recent graduate, however all levels of education will be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
