Security Consultant
- £650 (outside)

  • 6 months
  • London based client mainly remote


My client, a financial services provider in the City are actively looking for an experienced security consultant to join their team on an initial 6-month contract basis.

Within this role you will work with one of their main programmes to build security into new cloud products and services.


Deliverables

  • Ensure necessary security nonfunctional requirements are prioritised, following a secure by design approach.
  • Build security into the procurement of new services and suppliers.
  • Develop necessary cyber security policies.
  • Deliver regular MI to the CISO.
  • Organise external security tests for projects, and advise on findings and remedial work. Person Specification
  • Work with internal security team and SOC provider to onboard new products into BAU.

Previous experience

  • Previously worked as an information security consultant on cloud projects and migrations.
  • Strong information and cyber security background, ideally supported by relevant professional qualifications. Experienced in working on cyber transformation programmes and balancing business delivery with cyber risk.
  • Good practical knowledge of security technologies and wider solutions including firewalls, identity and access management, SOC, remote working and cloud technologies.
  • Experience working in cyber security within financial services.
  • Excellent understanding of best practice within information security, risk mitigation and cyber essentials.
  • Thorough understanding of legislation and regulations that impact information security.
  • Good understanding of project management methodology and how to implement security within them.
  • Ability to present complex or highly technical issues in simple and easy to understand formats.
  • A natural ability to build strong relationships and an understanding of balancing security risk with business transformation.
