We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team and contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain and amend employee training matrix to first aiders, fire marshals and FLT drivers.
- Create, review and amend safety systems of work in line with HSE recommendations and advice.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and maintain health and safter policies, procedures and the proper use of protective equipment.
- Conduct health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, employee safety training and meetings.
- Provision of emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities. This includes adequate provision of first aid and welfare facilities and support.
- Investigate incidents and accident, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to mitigate future occurrences.
- Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety regulations standards, ensuring our operations remain in accordance with legal requirements.
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and developments, proactively implementing new strategies to enhance our safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate safety performance to management.
- Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, noise, radiation and manual handling risks
- Responsible for the creation and management of health and safety monitoring systems and policies in the workplace.
- Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organizing emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders
- Responsible for the routine maintenance schedule for both plant and machinery
Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA or similar
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards related to recycling and waste management
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and propose effective solutions
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools

£30,000.00 per year
