Management Accountant
Location - Darwen, Blackburn - Hybrid
Salary - £45,000 DOE
Simpson Judge are working with a rapidly expanding, leading developer and supplier of technologies, with offices based in Darwen.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to monthly reporting practices in a timely manner with high quality and
to strict deadlines

  • Reporting to Group for results
  • Reporting to UK Country Controller with financial results and follow up actions
from operations

  • Assist external Tax providers and Valmet shared financial services with local VAT
preparation and monitor unit is compliant with legal requirements

  • Sage payroll support
  • Assistance with estimation/planning and other reporting (e.g. KPI followup, cost
follow-up and other types of ad hoc reporting)

  • Provide support to various Business Partners within the business and support
assigned business units, explaining finance topics to non-finance colleagues

  • Provide monthly financial statements for internal use
  • Monitor that unit is compliant with Valmet accounting principles
  • Reporting to UK Country Controller with financial results and follow up actions
from operations

  • Responsible for external reporting such as National Statistics
  • Managing required finance processes and assist team to follow processes
  • Support the transactional type of work with Valmet Global Financial Operations
according to defined work split

Experience/Skills required:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant, with 3 years' experience
  • High degree of personal drive, with the initiative to solve problems in a
pragmatic time effective manner

  • Ability to drive change and adapt quickly to changing business models and
processes

  • Proven resilience in a changing business environment
  • Strong technical finance background
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective
working relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Advanced Excel and systems skills, for example VLookUp / Index,
  • Match / Pivot
