_Welder and Fabricator _AboutUs**We are a local company who provides maintenance and repair on Heavy Plant Machinery for the Quarry Industry both nationally as well as globally. We are looking to increase our workforce to accommodate the demand our professionalism has created in this field.
Job Title
Welder/Fabricator
The Role
- Assist in crushing machine rebuilds
- Quarry maintenance/repair work
- Read and interpret engineering drawings in a bid to understand work specifications
- Assist in setting up welding equipment and workstation clean.
- Operate hand and power tools particular to the welding trade
- Operate manual and semiautomatic welding and cutting equipment
- Examine workpieces to determine defects and perform welding and cutting duties to straighten and make good
- Prepare all material surfaces that need to be welded and ensure there is no rust/scale
- Position, measure and align parts that need to be welded
- There may be occasions where maintenance and repairs will be required off site on customers premises.
Essential Experience
Minimum requirement would be PEO/NVQ Level 2 in Welding/Fabricating, Health and Safety and other associated core units would be advantageous.
Desirable Experience
Welding experience would be a valuable bonus for the role. Additional training will be provided in areas related to the task if required.
Person Spec
- Essential to have a great deal of common sense and safety awareness as they will be using machines and equipment, that if not used correctly could cause serious injury to themselves or others.
- Ability to follow company guidelines and safety requirements when working on live sites (working sites) where there is a variety of working plant machinery and equipment.
- When working off site or in our workshop you will on all occasions obey and adhere to correct safe working practices and instructions.
- Able to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Willing to undertake further and additional training which is necessary associated with the role.

Salary:
£12.00-£18.00 per hour
