Administration Assistant hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a role within the Specialised Surgery Directorate.


You will play a crucial role within the busy Skin secretarial team, supporting the team with a variety of office duties.

This post offers an excellent opportunity of development for individuals wishing to gain exposure to a wide range tasks. The ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload is essential, working as part of a busy fast-paced team.

The role will be heavily telephone based and be the main point of contact for our patients calling the department.

  • The post holder's main responsibility will be to answer patient queries and helping patients over the phone.
  • Communicate with patients on the telephone, to provide information relating to appointments and provide reassurance to patients who may be awaiting results.
  • To check and confirm the patient's identity when contacting patients or imparting any information.
  • To provide clerical support to the Skin Team across both sites and the admin team in booking appointments.
  • To use Microsoft office package and Hospital patient management computer systems.
  • To ensure the administration relating to clinics is prepared in a timely manner.
  • To work effectively as a member of the admin and clerical team.
  • Work to a high standard of accuracy in admin duties.
  • To be flexible in providing cover to the Skin Unit reception during leave within the team.
  • To maintain confidentiality on all information obtained during the course of work.
