We own and operate the UK's largest charging network (Polar) and have over 40,000 home chargers installed in domestic properties.


As an Systems Engineer you will define and deliver new features for BP Pulse in areas such as smart charging, grid integration and home integration.

This will include analysis of user requirements and the design of the System to meet these user requirements.

You will engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure our products provide a market leading customer experience.


Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • UX Research and Insight appreciation (UX decomposition and Stakeholder Requirements generation)
  • Feature Definition
  • Development and management of User and System Requirements including traceability.
  • Analysis of functional, behavioural and performance requirements
  • Logical Design
  • Architectural Design
  • Functional Decomposition and Allocation
  • Interface definition
  • System integration and user acceptance testing

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in the field of science and engineering with 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Model based Systems Engineering using SysML or UML
  • Requirements Management and Traceability
  • Interface definition
  • Experience developing systems which use ISO15118, OCPP or similar protocols an advantage
  • Experience with Vehicle Charging, Smart Grid, Smart Metering, Renewable Energy an advantage
