Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy on the hire of EIA Consultants & Senior Environmental Managers/Coordinators.


Our client's Environmental Planning and EIA team is looking to recruit experienced environmental planning consultants to the team, to lead EIAs and provide expert advice to clients on the environmental aspects and impacts of their projects.

The EIA teamis involved in a wide range of large-scale projects including major infrastructure projects, throughout the UK (including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)).


You will provide environmental inputs across all project lifecycles; from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of consents, construction and scheme operation/ maintenance.


EIA Consultant role involves:


  • Coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a range of projects, with a focus on the management of EIAs in support of gaining development consent. Includes coordinating the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports and EnvironmentalStatements, including the technical review of specialist chapters.
  • Liaising with internal supply teams, including working collaboratively with design teams to ensure that environmental considerations are appropriately taken into account
  • Working in partnership with other members of the E&S team, managing resources, delegating activities, and monitoring budgets

Senior EIA role involves:


  • Supporting the Major Infrastructure and Environmental Planning Team in delivering major EIAs across a number of sectors including undertaking business development and seeking repeat business to grow our presence in environmental planning.
  • Preparing EIA Screening and Scoping.
  • Providing expert environmental advice relating to environmental assessment and management into the design and construction of major infrastructure and development projects in both the private and public sectors.
  • Managing technical and commercial delivery of projects and bids and ensuring they are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Contributing to larger projects as part of wider project teams and working with the project design team to deliver an integrated design that meets the environmental objectives of the project.
  • Participating in the preparation/presentation of proposals/bids as required including estimating timescales and costs for proposed works.
