About the Learning & Development Team

You will be joining a welcoming and friendly team of just over 40 colleagues based at our office in Huntingdon.

We support the learning and development of thousands of Council colleagues through our Learning Management System (LMS) which hosts e-Learning modules and a booking system for face to face and virtual training.

Alongside this, we support staff to complete Apprenticeships and work-based qualifications.

We also provide continuous professional development opportunities for Social Workers and are committed to supporting local universities by providing placements for their Student Social Workers, which is managed by our team.

You will be able to work flexibly from home or from our Stanton House office in Huntingdon when the need arises.

We are able to offer a flexible working pattern, these allow everyone to effectively blend their work and life commitments.

At Cambridgeshire County Council, we know that we work better if we are able to have flexibility in our working arrangements, and we want to help everyone to achieve this, so please talk to us about the working pattern that would most suit you to be successful in this role.

What will you be doing?

You will be working closely with a variety of Trainers across the team, the council and some external providers.

You will also be in contact with learners who are trying to access our training and e-learning.

Tasks relating to this post can include:

  • Supporting a generic inbox by responding to queries or forward to colleagues to respond
  • Raising requisitions to pay suppliers and invoices to charge customers
  • Using the Learning Management System to advertise a wide variety of courses and all associated tasks to support the delivery of each course such as: adding courses and training dates to LMS, monitoring course numbers, confirming attendance, supporting technical queries with the LMS, amending new starters records, allocating staff to groups, cancelling places, creating learner accounts
  • Supporting In-Service courses
  • Sourcing meeting rooms for training delivery
  • Supporting with Microsoft Teams and welcoming Learners into virtual classrooms
  • Ensuring process notes are accurate and up to date
About you
You should have good administration skills, the ability to prioritise your workload, show attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication skills will also be required as you will be liaising with a variety of people across the organisation as well as colleagues from the private, voluntary and independent sector.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to deadlines. You should have a methodical, concise and flexible approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Teams, SharePoint, Word and Excel) and be able to use databases where full training will be given.

Don't worry if you can't yet fully demonstrate the essential criteria - a willingness to learn and develop is just as important and full training will be given.
