Road Safety Auditing
- Must have knowledge of an adhere to the contents of GG11
- Undertaking stage one, two, three and four audits in accordance with GG11
- Road Safety Audit advice
- Experience with Trunk Road Audits
- Must be experienced sufficiently to be a member of the audit team
- Ideally be experienced to be the lead auditor
2 years of collision analysis/road safety design experience for an audit team member and 4 years if they are a RSA audit leader
Ideally a certificate of confidence for work on the strategic road network. That is required for at least one audit team member.
Identification and development of Safety Need
- Undertake network reviews to identify areas for safety enhancement/improvement,
- Work with asset teams, service delivery and stakeholders to identify need and develop deliverable solutions,
- Review and analysis collision data to identify network need, safety issues and potential solutions,
- Undertake site inspections ensuing appropriate governance and checks are followed,
- Risk assess and recommend the prioritisation of safety interventions,
- Develop highway solutions ideally be able to develop engineering plans and drawings to support interventions,
- Develop soft road safety interventions such as identifying areas for targeted maintenance or enforcement,
- Support road safety coordinator in supplying collision analysis to support education and enforcement measures
Supporting internal teams and Third-party projects/planning enquires
- Provide advice to internal national highways teams
The Service shall be delivered by an appropriately qualified and competent person with experience of delivering the work detailed in the scope and working with National Highways databases, governance and related processes and procedures.
The Service shall be undertaken in accordance with current DMRB Standards with departures identified where necessary and appropriate.
Security clearance will be required for access to National Highways systems (BPSS)
