£12.35 per hour / £25,700 per annum

Taskmaster currently have an excellent opportunity for a planner/stock controller to join our client based in Livingston.

Our client are one of the largest and oldest tropical produce importers and distributors. Your role will become a vital part of the production process ensuring all orders can be fulfilled on time.

The role:

Much of the role will be office / desk based but there will also be times that you will need to check the produce.

You will be required to lift heavy boxes at times (up to 22kg). There will also be a need to work at height and you will be required to climb a ladder.

The normal working shift will be Tuesday to Saturday, however other days may be required to cover holidays/sickness etc. Hours will be between 4.30am pm. These times are variable. 8 working hours per day.

Main Responsibilities:

Maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure optimum ripening programs are achieved and are as efficient as possible.
Planning incoming transport to ensure continuity of supply.
To manage inbound shipments, ensuring the warehouse team have clear information regarding what is due to arrive, identifying inventory required for sales orders, and flagging any critical items.
Allocation of rooms for produce depending on sales requirements.
Liaising with hauliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Make decisions on the most effective and efficient use of the stock.

To be successful we are looking for you to have:

Experience of working within a fast-paced Production / Stock Control environment would be beneficial, as would some fresh produce knowledge.
A good working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures is essential.
Problem solving attitude.
Excellent excel / analytical ability
Ability to organise self and others
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
Excellent communication skills
Must be computer literate
Ability to concentrate in busy working environment
Good work ethic

Additional information:

Full training will be given and can take up to 12 months to complete in full
Pallet truck and Forklift truck licence are an advantage but not essential.
Will be required to cover for emergency call outs on odd occasions, which could be during the night on occasions.
Some degree of flexibility will be required in terms of shifts and hours of work, in order to meet the demands of the business.
