MAIN PURPOSE

To ensure the effective delivery of shipping within the Plant and Logistics Department and is required to carry out his/her identified job tasks in a safe, diligent and efficient manner as specified within this job description and also as directed by the Logistics Operations Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with regards health and safety and that a safe working environment is achieved and maintained.
Liaise with ATR and purchasing departments on a daily basis and assist where possible.
To ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, within the requested timescales, utilising the correct and relevant documentation to the desired location.
To ensure yard and warehouse activities are effectively controlled, which includes effective container controls.
To ensure effective communications are achieved with internal customers and relationships built up to deliver customer satisfaction.
To fulfil an active role as part of the Plant and Equipment Logistics leadership team.
Any other duties as designated by the logistics operations manager or as Bilfinger Salamis' business dictates.
