The Anaesthetic Department at Peterborough City Hospital has a vacancy within the administration team for a period of six months.


The Anaesthetic Administrator role is to provide an efficient administration service to the anaesthetic medical workforce at Peterborough City Hospital.

The role supports the College Tutor and members of the Specialist Training Committee for Anaesthetics in providing administration support in all matters relating to education and training of anaesthetists.

The role coordinates the Anaesthetic Assessment Clinics ensuring the anaesthetic pathways are efficient and effective.

To provide efficient and comprehensive administration support to the Anaesthetic Department.

To perform all allocated administration tasks required to meet the needs of the service.

To work closely with the Anaesthetists and Pre-Assessment Team to support the anaesthetic assessment pathway.

Ensure patients receive accurate appointment information using the PAS system.

Receive, consider and collate results of investigations. Deal with promptly. Take appropriate action to draw attention to abnormal results. Follow up as necessary.

Audio typing of patient information, including the typing of letters

To act as the first point of contact for the Anaesthetic Department for all enquires.

To provide cover for the rota coordinator.
