Proactive Maintenance Lead / 2nd / 3rd line Support

Maidstone

Up to £36k DOE


As the Proactive Maintenance Lead, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the performance, reliability, and security of our IT systems.

You will lead initiatives to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact business operations.

This role requires a blend of high-end 2nd line and 3rd line technical skills, along with leadership and strategic planning abilities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly monitor IT systems to preemptively identify and resolve issues.
  • Performance Optimisation: Implement strategies to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Incident Management: Lead the response to complex technical issues, providing expertise in troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a proactive approach to system maintenance.
  • Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Security Oversight: Ensure systems are secure and compliant with industry standards.
  • Project Management: Lead and participate in projects aimed at system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders to align maintenance activities with business needs.

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on proactive system maintenance.
  • Strong technical skills covering highend 2nd line and 3rd line support areas.
  • Indepth knowledge of network infrastructure, server environments, virtualization technologies, and security protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

Experience in managing IT projects.
