The primary responsibility of a Solution Architect is to assist the delivery of a viable, management and fit-for-purpose solution that meets the needs of the client and is capable of being effectively managed in service.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the creation and implementation of endtoend solution/technical design, ensuring alignment with the strategic technical architecture.
Responsible for ensuring the solution/design process is adhered to during all phases of project delivery.
Provide solution and technical SME input to appropriate levels to supplement internal skills (e.g. when new technologies are being investigated).
Provide an escalation point for design related issues within projects.
Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy.
Identify, communicate and manage Information Assurance risks.
Design security architecture elements to mitigate risks in liaison with Solution Leads.
Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
Definition of network architecture, demonstrating solutions delivery, principles and emerging technologies.

Essential

Good knowledge of core
Cisco Networking technologies covering switching, routing,firewall,wireless(ASA,ACI,NX-OS,IOS etc.)
Some exposure to network orchestration and automation with a willingness/aptitude to do more.
Concrete understanding of fundamental vendor i
ndependent network (IP) concepts and adjacent technologies (
DHCP, DNS etc)
Experience leading projects and working as part of a team including preparing and presenting designs to a high standard.

Desirable

Familiarity with industry standard frameworks in project management and architecture (Prince2, TOGAF etc)
Good knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications, and ideally also Asterisk PABX
Familiarity with concepts involved in SEIM and other network security technologies. (IDS, IPS, 802.1x, web proxy, content inspection)
Familiarity with Endpoint Management (Device Control, Data Protection, Application delivery and control. Secure remote access)
Familiarity with thin and zero clients (especially PCoIP devices)
Familiarity with Windows server, AD, exchange sharepoint, group policy
Familiarity with public cloud (M365, AWS, Azure Google)
Linux based OS Administration and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet) applied to Linux and networking equipment.
Experience of CAPS approved cryptography
Experience with scripting languages including python and powershell
