We are looking for a full-time Child Protection Conference Chair in Medway Council.


Payrate:
up to £45 p/h


Key duties of the role include:

You will have the ability to develop strong professional relationships that support quality practice for our children and young people and be confident to challenge when this is not the best it can be.


You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience of social work with significant experience and understanding of child protection practice.


The role forms part of the wider Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service in Medway and very much has a part to play in the quality assurance of practice.

This role will be responsible for driving good practice and quality assurance through quality assuring the effectiveness and impact of interventions on children and young people with a Child Protection Plan.


The role of CP Chair, whilst hybrid, is likely to mean chairing CP conferences in person at their centre in Rochester up to 5 days per week but dependent on how many conferences per week there may be some working from home days, but this is a week by week arrangements dependent on business need.


The successful applicant will:

  • Have a recognised Social Work qualification
  • Have an active SWE registration
  • Be able to demonstrate post qualification continual professional learning & development
  • Be an excellent communicator with effective influencing, advocating and negotiating skills
  • Possess experience in management in a Social Work environment
