Who are Pall Mall Medical?

Pall Mall Medical is an independent Private Hospital with two theatres and 11 beds. We provide both day case and overnight facilities, predominantly to patients who are undergoing elective Cosmetic Surgery. We also perform some Gynaecology, Urology and ENT procedures.


Hospital facilities include:

  • 2 theatres (1 laminar flow)
  • 11 private, ensuite bathrooms
  • Minor ops suite
  • Endoscopy suite
  • Diagnostic suite (MRI, CT, X-Ray, Mammography)
  • Consultation suite

Case mix:

  • General anaesthetic, local & sedation, local anaesthetic procedures
  • Elective Cosmetic Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology and ENT procedure

What will you be doing?


As a Pall Mall Medical housekeeper, you will ensure the company premises are presentable and tidy at all times in order to provide the best service to our patients.

The job holder will ensure all aspects of housekeeping are untaken and completed in a time manner.


Main Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Bring all scrubs down from changing rooms and ensure these are correctly organised in the linen trolley
  • Take large clinical bins from theatre sluice and ensure these are clean and empty for next use
  • Cleaning within theatre department; Both theatres, recovery and anaesthetic rooms and surrounding theatre admin/changing rooms
  • Clean and check each patient rooms for cleanliness and stock is maintained
  • Check all mattresses and complete any unmade beds, damp wipe room
  • Maintain and clean trolleys/ admin desks, and stock white aprons and consumables
  • Ensure a check of all showers on each floor are ran for 10 minutes each Monday
  • Collate all gowns, bed linen and scrubs and organise for collect accordingly, maintaining use and quality, ensuring the surgical list for 2 weeks in advance is adequate and fit for use.
  • Stock management of gowns, scrubs for each surgery day
  • Hourly check of each toilet facility on company property
  • Replacing bed rolls for MRI, Xray and clinical rooms
  • Completing checks in staff areas, boardroom, offices, kitchens to ensure neat and tidy and stocked
  • Replacement and replenishment of clinical bins, staff bins, shredders
  • Damp wipe all keyboards, screens, admin and clinical desks on all floors
  • Maintenance of showers, kettles and descaled once a month
  • Glass work on all floors to be maintained and clean and clearing patient's car park of debris and rubbish
  • Stock management of food for patients on surgery days, responsible for adequate stock management to ensure we have adequate stock for 2 weeks minimum
  • Delivery check 4 times per day
  • Set up and maintenance of patient rooms, beds, stock and ensuring these are cleaned appropriately
  • Assist in ward cleanliness and presentation of premises, ensuring equipment and devices are cleaned where possible and to an appropriate standard.
  • Maintain and ordering of stock, consumables and working with stock controller to ensure all purchase orders are completed to company policy.
  • Support conference room set up, preparation, functions (if required)
  • Ensure all broken or damaged equipment is reported to the facilities manager and removed from use
  • To ensure that all areas of Pall Mall Medical is clean and presentable in accordance with the specification laid down
  • To mop, dust and wipe all surfaces as appropriate and clean parts of internal glass
  • Ensure kitchens are cleaned and maintained at all times
  • To be aware of the and responsible to the changing nature of Pall Mall Medical and adopt a flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Attending and completion of mandatory training
  • To maintain the colour coded procedures for compliance and infection control requirements.
