The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh's most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins.

Our hotel's majestic clock defines the city's skyline and since the day we opened in 1902 it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

The Position

Joining the Front Office team, you will be responsible for delivering prompt and efficient telephone service by maintaining the highest standards of guest and customer care and service at all times.

Your main duties involve answering incoming and placing outgoing calls; taking messages; operating the pager system and recording and setting all guest wake-up calls.

A professional, courteous, and confident telephone manner is essential for this position as is a true passion for customer service.

As all duties are to be carried out in accordance to set procedures and standards, attention to detail is vital.

Previous experience on a busy switchboard is essential and knowledge from within a hotel environment would be highly desirable. The hours of work are on a shift basis five days out of seven including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
