About us
Isle Study Centre is an Alternative Provision Centre in Scunthorpe. We are a small, supportive, therapeutic centre, who work with children out of mainstream school. Our goal is to improve the lives and chances of young people.


The role
You would be joining our small team 10am-2pm, Monday-Thursday.

You will be primarily responsible for the academic development of the pupils as well as playing a key role in their overall development.

You will focus mainly on helping the children achieve Functional Skills or Foundation Maths and English.

Engaging the children in academic study can often be very challenging, so we are seeking a creative and competent individual who can teach in different ways, using different methods and create engaging short lessons.


  • The role is a selfemployed position
  • The role is termtime only, however there may be opportunity for alternate work at the centre during holiday times.

Responsibilities:

- guide pupils through arranged activities
- conduct 1:1 and 2:1 maths lessons
- assist with the planning of our curriculum
- take pupils out to do fun activities
- listen to pupils worries and be supportive
- fill out relevant paperwork
- effectively handle challenging behaviour

Essential:


  • 5 GCSE's (maths and english are essential)
  • Alevel Mathematics or equivalent
  • Experience working with children
  • A full UK drivers license and a vehicle that can be used for business purposes

Desired:


  • Further education
  • 3 years experience working at an AP

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
£15.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 16 per week
