Summary:


We are looking for a live-in caretaker to provide a high-quality caretaking service for 1 temporary accommodation Hostel and 1 block of 5 flats.

Also to assist with the maintenance and cleaning of all properties and grounds within the company portfolio, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors at all times.

You will be provided with a company vehicle.


Hostel and 1 block of Flats

  • Regular cleaning of internal communal areas as set out in the service schedules.
  • Checking all communal lighting (internal and external), replacing light bulbs/ fluorescent tubes and cleaning lighting covers to maintain a safe level of light in rooms and communal areas.
  • Sweeping and removal of rubbish from all external areas, ensuring grass areas, shrubs and pathways, parking areas and gardens are clear of litter, leaves and any other hazardous items (e.g. broken glass).
  • Cleaning and tidying all bin areas ensuring household rubbish items are in the correct bins awaiting collection and bulky rubbish is removed quickly to an appropriate place where it is safe and not causing a hazard to other residents.
  • Carrying out repairs and redecoration, as and when instructed, ensuring the service complies with the company's Maintenance policies and procedures in terms of timescales, quality standards and service delivery.
  • Keeping tools and equipment clean and in good working order and reporting any defects.
  • Liaising with contractors and granting them access as and when necessary.
  • Reporting sub-standard work by contractors to the Client Services Manager.
  • Ensuring the safety of keys and key holding for the rooms / property.
  • Ensuring fire safety checks are performed according to the policies and procedures and the Fire Safety Policy is implement.
  • Reporting damaged, faulty, or missing fire safety equipment.
  • Reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour (or other breaches of licence) to the Client Services Manager.
  • Delivering letters and messages to residents, where required.
  • Keeping records of works carried out in line with company policy.
  • Ensuring all Visitors sign in and out of the building.

Other Duties

  • Undertaking gardening duties throughout all properties as and where required.
  • Cleaning of all properties between occupants as and when required.
  • Maintaining stock levels of materials, bedding, crockery, kitchenware etc to ensure all properties can be serviced effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all complaints, accidents and logs etc., are recorded according to the policy and procedure.
  • Carrying out general administrative duties related to the post.
  • Attending and participating in team meetings and training sessions, as required.
  • Being responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and others around you.

Job Types:

Salary:
Up to £28,000.00 per year
