RSR Justice are currently working with a domestic abuse charity to recruit for an Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner.


As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will need to plan and implement high quality support for women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse.

This is a full time, permanent role, based in Coventry and offers a salary of £22,990.50 per annum.


The role:


  • Identify and develop support strategies to meet the needs of women and children affected by domestic abuse in all forms, seeking support across services.
  • Provide high quality casework, 1:2:1 support and advice to victims/survivors who are/have experienced DA.
  • Provide safety planning, undertake regular risk and needs assessments.
  • Work with women to identify their 'support' needs and incorporate these into women's Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Provide group work support for victims/survivors.
  • Leading on referrals into the community team, you will develop and deliver a range of support services to women and their children.
  • Provide advocacy, practical and emotional support to women.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the women, young people and children using the service.

Requirements:


  • Good general level of education.
  • Good knowledge of DA issues and the statutory framework.
  • Good understanding of referrals processes, particularly to housing, benefits and legal as it relates to domestic violence.
  • Good listening, support and advice skills demonstrating the ability to assess the needs of callers experiencing DVA.
  • Experience of identifying, dealing with and referring safeguarding concerns to relevant agencies.
  • Ability to speak at least one of the following languages Urdu, Hindi, Mirpuri, Punjabi Gujrati or Bengali Farzi, Pushtu, African languages in particular Somalian.
  • Commitment to the empowerment of BAME women.
  • Able to drive with current driving license and access to a vehicle and business insurance.
