    Description

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - Vehicle & Suspension Systems

    Contact- 6 months initially

Join a high-performing global mechanical engineering team delivering next-generation vehicle and chassis solutions—from clean-sheet concept through to production. This role leads the design and development of critical suspension and structural systems while guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and high-performance products.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead the concept, architecture, and detailed 3D design of complex mechanical systems including subframes, suspension knuckles, control arms, steering links, and related assemblies
    • Manage and mentor a team of design engineers, driving technical excellence and on-time delivery
    • Deliver detailed engineering outputs: stress calculations, FMEAs, tolerance stack-ups, 2D drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
    • Collaborate closely with simulation/FEA, manufacturing, and process engineering teams to ensure validation, durability, NVH, and DFMA compliance
    • Own and manage Bills of Materials and design data within PLM systems
    • Interface with suppliers and cross-functional engineering groups to ensure timely information flow and project execution
    • Support or lead small-to-mid-size engineering programs as Lead Designer or system owner

    What You Bring

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
    • Significant experience in mechanical design engineering focused on vehicle, chassis, suspension, or steering systems
    • Strong grounding in engineering fundamentals, vehicle dynamics, durability, and interpretation of FEA/CFD results
    • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and DFMA principles
    • High-level proficiency in GD&T and production-grade technical drawing creation
    • Advanced CAD capability (CATIA V5 preferred) and experience with PLM systems (Windchill desirable)
    • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
    • Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills

Impact: Drive the engineering of critical vehicle systems, shape innovative chassis solutions, and lead teams delivering production-ready designs for cutting-edge mobility programs
