We have an exciting opportunity to join the IT Services Department as a Senior Administrator working. This position is open to hybrid working (min. 2 days in the office).


IT Services is a key department that ensures that the University has robust, reliable and high-performing IT facilities it requires to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration.

About the Role


You will concentrate on five important activities within IT Services: senior administration duties, human resource management, staff development, relationship management with the University Estates Services and overall estates management, along with overseeing the department's internal and external communications.


You will be a valid member of the IT Services Senior Management Team (SMT) with responsibility for the strategic direction and development of the department.


Senior administration covers a wide range of activities to ensure the smooth running of the department, including line management of the HR and Office manager, and communications team and financial management of associated budgets and leading on department-wide projects.


About You
You will have experience managing several functions in a complex working environment, along with excellent people management experience.

You will have experience with identifying, designing and, delivering learning and development interventions across a department with a proven ability to lead and encourage a team-based approach.


You will have experience in estates management for an individual unit including space planning and allocation, and managing utility budgets.

You will have some experience in digital communications, from simple internal communication methods to communication campaigns.


You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in your ability to engage with members of the University at all levels, including experience in overseeing a communications strategy or campaign.
