PURPOSE OF THE JOB


Reporting to The Trading Rooms Restaurant Manager, and working closely with the Trading Rooms FOH and chef team, the post holder will work mainly in the Trading Rooms restaurant, but may occasionally work in any of the Piece Hall's other hospitality outlets or pop ups.

You will help to ensure the effective day to day running of the F&B services, providing excellent customer service and contributing to the realisation of the organisation's goal of The Piece Hall becoming a world class heritage, events, retail, food and drink destination.


KEY DELIVERABLES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

General duties

  • To provide an efficient and effective Front of House service to customers, understanding their needs and requirements, and working to exceed these wherever possible.
  • To work in the Caygill Rooms function suite on events or functions if required
  • Asist with stock control, checking quantity and quality of stock received and ensuring stock is rotated.
  • Deliver table service, clear tables, wash and clean crockery, utensils, kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors and the dining area.
  • Prepare drinks and/or cocktails as required
  • Making menu recommendations, answering questions and sharing additional information with restaurant patrons
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations and that a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained.
  • Preparing bills, operating the till and EPOS system accurately, and cash handling.
  • Demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members, recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.

CANDIDATE PROFILE (F&B ASSISTANT - THE PIECE HALL)

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Atleast 2 years experience of delivering a front of house service to excellent standards and results in similar high quality F&B outlets and restaurants to those at the Piece Hall
  • Proven experience of working effectively within a team
  • Ability to work in line with health and safety regulations, ensuring an excellent standard of hygiene
  • Ability to work fast under pressure, to a consistently high standard
  • Ability to form positive relationships with colleagues
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic
  • Excellent time keeping
  • Selfmotivated
  • Experience of cash handling
  • Confident working independently under minimum supervision and using initiative

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • Barista training
  • Bar experience
  • Mixology experience and training

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

  • Basic food hygiene certificate

OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • A demonstrable enthusiasm for The Piece Hall and the huge potential of the organisation and the area, and the ability to help shape and realise the vision for The Piece Hall Trust
  • Real attention and concern for detail and ability to ensure all relevant policies and procedures are followed when necessary
  • The willingness to work outside of 'normal' office hours when required
  • A genuine enjoyment of work and the ability to maintain these attributes under pressure
  • First aid certificate

£5.28-£10.42 per hour
