Background:


The Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) will work with industrial and academic partners on an innovative fibre optic sensor and software-based solution to the key infrastructural challenges from the construction industry both in the UK and overseas in a project entitled 'Digital Industrial-Scale Microwave system for energy-efficient and low-carbon precast concrete production'.

The PDRA will be based at the Research Institute of Sensorsand Instrumentation at City and this appointment is for 21 months and is available from March 2023.


Responsibilities:


The PDRA will tackle the technical challenges in the development of innovative solutions to creating a digital, industrial-scale microwave system for energy-efficient and low-carbon precast concrete production.

The PDRA is required to develop a novel sensor system, including both hardware and software, by working together with the industrial and academic partners, to allow the construction, testing and evaluation of the innovative digital, industrial-scale microwave concrete curing system, to allow more energy-efficient and low-carbon precast concrete production.
