Description

The Biological Samples Coordinator will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of paediatric clinical trials from study set up to closure in accordance with the clinical trial protocol and Good Clinical Practice.

The role will involve providing comprehensive administrative support to the delivery of the portfolio including completing and submitting documents to obtain local approval; collecting, recording and maintaining data for patients on studies; co-ordination of specimen collection and distribution and organising tests and investigations.

Close collaboration with the Trial Coordinators and Data Managers with respect to trial requirements and reporting will be expected. They will work along side the Haematology/ Oncology Research nurses.

Main duties include

The co-ordination of study/ trial sample requirements according to a portfolio of heamatology ,neurooncology and oncology studies /trials.

Tracking / booking patients appointments according to study sample requirements.

Arranging for samples to be sent to researchers/ other laboratories, hospitals.

Accurate data collection and entry into case report files.

Communicating with the wider MDT, external agencies and sponsors.

Attend MDT meetings.

Work with Histopathology and other laboratories to ensure samples are registered and sent away as per trial protocol.
