ER Advisor to join our team based

in Exeter. Joining us on a

Fixed Term Contract basis, you will receive a competitive salary of

£32,000 -

£35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.


About the role
***As our ER Advisor you will provide a fully comprehensive, proactive and specialist Employee Relations Service.


You will manage ER cases to completion whilst providing a professional ER service that meets all legislative and policy requirements, and be an ambassador of the companies' policies and process, amending and updating policies in line with new legislation and promoting the function in a positive manner.


What you'll be doing:


  • Identifying and communicating any significant ER risks to the relevant parties (business, Business Partner's HR Leadership etc)
  • Intervening in ER cases at an early stage to avoid escalation by advising managers whilst guiding them in line with polices and process
  • Ensuring the effective case management of disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance capability cases, TUPEs, redundancy and contract variation consultations
  • Advising managers on all areas of Employee Relations with the aim of increasing their selfsufficiency
  • Keeping up to date with the latest ER case law, sharing learnings with all key stakeholders
  • Working closely with the Employee Relations team, HR Business Partner, HR Administration, Payroll and Data Teams as part of the HR Shared Service Centre
  • Engaging with Occupational Health and Group Legal Teams as and when required and consulting with Trade Unions as appropriate
  • Supporting with the updating of policies and procedures to reflect changes in employment legislation
  • Participating in specific project work, as and when directed, ensuring that project outcomes are relevant, effective and delivered within defined timescales
  • Collating and analysing people data, identifying trends and providing insight and recommendations for any continuous improvement initiatives

What we are looking for:


  • CIPD qualified or significant equivalent experience / qualification in employment law
  • Experience in an Employee Relations role
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong project management capability
  • Effective consulting and coaching skills
