Ward B49 is a Healthcare of the older person ward based at QMC and we are seeking a part time enthusiastic Ward Administrator to work 18.75 hours per week.


The post holder will provide a comprehensive and administrative service to the Ward Manager to assist in the smooth and effective performance of their duties and make a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team.


A good standard of education and experience of Microsoft Office packages, including a good knowledge of Word and Excel is essential.

You will need to provide comprehensive administrative services to the ward staff and assist in the day-to-day administration management of the workforce.

Ward B49 is looking to employ a motivated and conscientious Ward Administrator to join our friendly and dynamic multi professional team.

Previous experience of working in administration is essential.

You will have the ability to prioritise and respond to planned and unplanned situations and assist in the smooth and efficient running of the ward, often dealing with various internal and external staffing teams and department along with sometimes working with outside agencies or companies.

The post holder must exercise initiative to organise their own workload within the constraints of defined deadlines.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required and the ability to work under pressure in what can be a fast paced, exciting and emotionally charged environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and administrative service to senior members of Ward Management team.

Assist senior members of the team with implementing, maintain and sustaining lean thinking methodology to improve productivity

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the clinical staff within the ward area, to include monitoring quality and audit activity and the production a range of documents relating to staffing.


The post holder will support the day-to-day administration management of the workforce and education activities, data entry and producing training reports.

To provide administrative support and timely workforce and education information related to the ward as required by Ward Manger, Deputy Mangers, and Nurse in Charge.

To provide personal assistant support for senior members of the team/Ward Manager.
