Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.

We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks.

These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.


Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.


Salary:

Up to £47,277


Hours of work - Standard Days:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm


Main duties and responsibilities:


  • To support the design and implementation of new processes, machinery and systems to ensure the Health and Safety Department deliver the highest standards for existing and new business (FMCG Departments
  • Fast moving consumer goods).
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. To implement, monitor and advise on Health & Safety Management systems. To develop, coordinate, implement and monitor safe working systems and processes. To develop and implement training plans which ensure all employees receive training necessary to ensure Health & Safety compliance.
  • To manage, develop and implement continual improvement practices and ensure that areas of responsibility operate in a manner that accord with appropriate statutory guidance and policies, procedures. To ensure that data with regards to Health & Safety performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed.
  • Review plans and specification for new machinery and equipment to make sure that they meet safety requirements. To support Engineering Department with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect analyses) and recommend solutions. To oversee and support with Companywide PUWER Assessments. Highlight areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred and prepare, in conjunction with line managers, remedial plans. Provide advice and guidance companywide on Health and Safety inclusive of being responsible for outlining safe operational procedures that identify all relevant hazards and accurately assess risks (as highlighted by new process evaluations). Effective document management to ensure maintenance and continuous improvements of Health & Safety systems.
  • Carry out safety training, as and when necessary, including all training related to workplace assessments. To support Senior Health and Safety Specialist with completing head office reports to deadline dates.

Qualifications - essential:


  • NEBOSH Certificate. ONC or equivalent in Engineering.

Experience - essential:


  • Previous experience in Health and Safety management. Previous experience in an Engineering and manufacturing environment. PUWER knowledge. A strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and the ability to interpret and advise accordingly. Technical skills a thorough understanding of electrical safety, equipment lockout, machine safeguarding, and industrial machinery operations is crucial for this role.
