Our Opportunity


Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems have a fantastic opportunity and are looking to recruit a
Process and General Assembler to join the team based in Belfast.

You will be responsible to mechanically assemble and electrically test products in a team environment, to process and quality requirements to meet the company milestones and targets.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for assembling products as per the production schedule with focus on quality, cost and schedule.
  • The operator will carry out a range of tasks e.g.
  • Mechanical Assembly, Electrical testing, basic soldering, product packaging, paint preparation, stores and material handling.
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects.
  • Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering & management to develop team working and ensure that safety, cost, quality and schedule are met.
  • Ensures that all tools, work instructions and equipment are maintained and at the correct standard.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of assemblies, work stations and general working area.
  • The jobholder will participate with their manager in the eHR together policy and ensure that individual career and personal development plans are in place.
  • Ensure all work undertaken is in accord with the departmental control procedures and ensure that in all aspects of work these procedures are followed.
  • Will be expected to work for periods of time without supervision and required to maintain records of production builds.
  • Assisting with work in other areas of the site when required to by management to achieve production schedules.

Listed below are some of the key attributes we are looking for:


Essential:


  • The jobholder should have a GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics, English, Science and Technology.

Desirable:


  • Experience of mechanical Assembly processes
  • Experience of basic electrical testing
  • Have good manual dexterity in order to work with complex assemblies
  • Be able to use small hand tools and measuring equipment, e.g. feeler gauges, clock gauges and torque tools
  • Follow manufacturing instruction sheets
  • Read basic engineering drawings
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean manufacturing/Business improvement Techniques

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness and flexibility to support activities at other Thales sites.
  • May be required to work shifts to support business needs
