Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with additional needs and challenging behaviour? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistant for a role at a well established secondary school in North Liverpool.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, focused on providing support to students who require additional assistance due to their individual needs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with challenging behaviour.
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide 11 or small group support to students, ensuring their engagement and progress.
  • Help students to manage their behaviour and emotions effectively.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop strategies for student support.

Requirements:


  • Relevant experience working with students with challenging behavior or special educational needs is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of students.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Any additional qualifications or certifications related to special educational needs would be advantageous.

Liverpool, UK


Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday


Salary:
Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
