Due to expansion of the service we are looking to appoint a Medical Secretary to provide administrative support to our Paediatric Eating Disorders Team.

This is a new post with plenty of opportunity to input into the development of the service.

We are therefore looking for an experienced administrator with excellent secretarial skills to join our Community Paediatrics Administration Team.

This is a fixed term post.

Receive and process telephone calls in accordance with Trust policy and in an appropriate manner.

Manage the running of the eating disorder clinic utilising PAS booking knowledge.

Regularly utilise Trust information systems such as Maxims for the creation of correspondence, reports, and other documents.

Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Patient Administration System (PAS) and Case note Management.


The Royal Cornwall Hospitals' NHS Trust (RCHT) is part of the Cornwall Healthcare Community, working in partnership with other local trusts to deliver high quality healthcare services across the county.

The population more than doubles during the busy holiday periods.


RCHT comprises three main hospitals:
The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro; West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance, and St. Michael's in Hayle.

Outpatient and other services are also provided at a large number of community-based NHS locations around the county and a number of corporate support services are located away from the main hospital sites.


To provide secretarial, booking, and administrative support to our eating disorder lead consultants and other medical staff using a range of secretarial procedures in accordance with the processes laid out in the Medical Secretaries Handbook and to provide cover for colleagues as necessary.
