Dental Receptionist
At Smiles and Smiles, we help everybody achieve the amazing smile they want. We are a smile transformation business, who specialize in cosmetic dentistry. Our hero product is composite bonding.


Job Summary


Working alongside highly trained clinicians and nurses, we are looking for a receptionist to assist the team by welcoming and supporting patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of patient care at all times.


The role will require you to also work closely with the Treatment Advisors and wider team to ensure that patient records, payment history and diary management is kept up to date and correct at all times.

Maintain the reception area to ensure that it is organised in an efficient manner and well presented.

Full time and part-time positions available.

The clinic operates 7 days a week and therefore we are looking for a team to work a flexible rota and weekend availability is essential.

Saturday and Sunday shifts are paid at a higher rate.


Job Description/ Responsibilities

  • Deliver first class customer experience and put the customer at the heart of everything we do
  • Understand and anticipate patients anxieties and needs and deal with these in a compassionate and professional manner
  • Direct and escort patients to the appropriate area
  • Answer the telephone in the prescribed manner and redirect incoming calls as appropriate
  • Correspond effectively and accurately with Treatment Advisors regarding customer appointments and payments. Ensuring the appointment system is accurate
  • Ensure computer/written records are accurately maintained and securely stored
  • Keep the reception and waiting areas clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice's health and safety and infection control procedures.
  • Liaise with dental laboratories, supply companies and other organisations as required
  • Ensure the lab materials are sent out promptly to patients and manage the daily post

GENERAL

  • Maintain patients confidentiality in line with data protection
  • Undergo training as may be required to develop skills and abilities
  • Act in accordance with the practice policies, rules and code of conduct
  • Maintain a professional, clean and tidy appearance and attitude at all times
  • Adapt to the culture of the practice and respect patients, colleagues and visitors
  • Attend and participate in practice meetings
  • Be flexible in your duties and perform other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice as required

Experience

  • Extensive experience in a dental practice as a receptionist in the UK
  • Solid understanding of CQC standards and how to effectively implement them
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft 365 and Dental software systems

Job Types:
